It depends on the state of your
panels. Most panels should last more than ten years
if properly maintained. Older panels may be more expensive

Technical
1. When do I need to use the Alarm
Verification Feature (AVF).
Panels with AVF are use in premises
where smoke & heat detectors are installed. In some
premises, transient evironment always cause detector
to false activate. The AVF is able to suppress and reduce
the false alarms.
2. What are Class A and Class
B wirings?
Class A wirings provide an electrically
redundant return path for the detection lines. A single
break in the detection lines will not impair the detection
capability of the fire alarm system.
Class B wirings does not have any redundant return path.
Any breaks in the detection circuits will result in
the loss of detection devices connected downstream of
the break. However, a fault warning will be generated
at the fire alarm panel to warn of the abnormal condition.
3. When do I need to use the
panels with LCD Displays.
Panels with LCD display allows
events to be logged in the panel. Any alarm & fire
signal occurring in the system are recorded together
with zone information, date and time of occurrence.
This is a great help for maintenance staff to determine
the probable cause of the incident.
Systems without LCD Display
feature will not be able to show the time of alarm or
fault occurrence. And if system is reset, all alarm
& fire signal information will not be available.
